Natural fibre composites offer enormous potential for the development of products and architecture.
In a three-day workshop various fibres were woven, stitched, knitted, laid, felted, winded, crocheted... or textiles were sewed up, layered, folded, cut and afterwards cured partly or completely by resin into strong, lightweight and innovative wall racks.
The focus was on lightweight constructions.
In creative experiments and intensive examinations of the materials and technology most different reinforcement constructions, supports and geometries as well as material combinations evolved.
Besides flax textiles the students made use of paper string, paper textiles, cotton, wool, straw, coco, sisal...
