Rosenthal Design Award - Young Designers meet Rosenthal

Subject of competition 2008/2009: "Innovations - Unusual in Porcelain"
With the start of the summer semester 2008 the Rosenthal AG, Selb, in cooperation with the German Design Council, Frankfurt, invited design students of designated academies for the third time to participate in the competition „Rosenthal Design Award – Young Designers meet Rosenthal“.

The following academies where invited:
- Free University of Bozen, faculty of design and art (Italy)
- Art Academy Berlin-Weißensee (Germany)
- Estonian Academy of Arts, Tallin (Estonia)
- Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem (Israel)
- University of Applied Science Northwestern Switzerland – faculty industrial design (Switzerland)

The designs had to fit the Rosenthal brand philosophy. Allowed were products in the fields tabletop, interior and accessories. Porcelain as a material had to make up at least 50% of the design.
